Education

The Bendigo region offers some of regional Australia's best education facilities, providing caring and professional environments for children to learn and grow.

There's more than 120 accredited pre-schools, primary schools and secondary colleges, as well as the Bendigo Region Institute of TAFE and La Trobe University. Our schools, colleges and tertiary institutions offer a wide range of courses and professional development programs as part of the region's commitment to life-long learning.

Bendigo Senior Secondary College is one of the largest Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) providers in the state, and is also an Internationally Accredited school with the Council for International Schools. The College was the first state school in Australia to be granted this award. In earning this accreditation, the college was measured against 140 internationally accepted standards. Under this school improvement process, Bendigo Senior Secondary College is typical of schools in the region that are committed to continually moving forward in order to remain a leading school that offers only the very best programs, support and learning environment to its much valued students.

There's also a large number of catholic and other private schools, such as the internationally acclaimed Girton Grammar, and many more government schools who share a commitment to providing academic excellence and personal development in a friendly, informative and caring environment.
