Bendigo and Region Skilled Migration Program receives National Award

Economic Development Awards

The Bendigo & Region Skilled Migration Program has been recognised for its outstanding and innovative marketing strategy.  The Program’s website, advertisements, brochures and DVDs promoted Bendigo and region to an international audience.

The marketing material was developed in conjunction with Sasi Marketing with the needs of local employers firmly in mind.

The Bendigo Skilled Migration Program is a key component of the City of Greater Bendigo’s Economic Development Unit's activities to support local business.  It has been in operation since July 2004. It aims to attract and retain new migrants to the region to help address skilled labour shortages.

The project identifies the skill shortages which exist and works closely with local businesses and industry to assist employers to make connections with skilled and trained staff from overseas, when their needs cannot be met locally. The project also provides ongoing support and assistance to local businesses and industry who have recruited new migrants.
